C.03: Types Of Nouns - Assessment 1
A Noun is the name of a person, place or thing like Peter, Canada, table etc.

Nouns are of two types:

1. Common Nouns: Words used for class of person, place or thing like boy, city etc.
2. Proper Nouns: Names of a particular person, place or thing like John, Africa etc.

Common nouns are further classified into:

1. Abstract nouns: Things which we cannot see or touch like bravery, love etc.

2. Collective nouns: Word used to describe a group like team, flock etc.

3. Compound nouns: Noun made up of more than one word like water bottle, brother-in-law.

4. Concrete nouns: Things which we can see or touch like stars, plants etc.

5. Non-countable nouns: Things we cannot count like hair, food etc.

6. Gender nouns: Words which are used for males or females like niece, lion etc.
